PRIVACY
Updated 29 October 2026.
DAUMEN Community is the public-facing name of this UK-operated community website. It shares Daumen artwork, community information and the HOHER game promotion. This notice covers this website; linked services have their own arrangements. Contact daumenfrosch.contact@gmail.com about privacy.
Visiting the website
You do not need to register, connect a wallet or provide a name to browse. The website application has no visitor database, advertising tracker, analytics script or contact form and sets no application cookies. The joke verification collects no age, identity documents or photographs. COPY CA only writes the public contract address to your clipboard when you request it; it does not read your clipboard or wallet.
Hosting and delivery services process technical connection data to serve and protect the website. Access and security records may include IP addresses, request times, requested pages and browser details. Visits are not anonymous to the services carrying the connection. We cannot verify a site-specific provider log retention period or promise that provider logging is disabled.
The staging host also sets Cloudflare’s __cf_bm security cookie to distinguish automated traffic from ordinary visitors. Cloudflare documents an expiry after 30 minutes of inactivity. This is a hosting security measure, not an application advertising cookie; its setting is outside this static website’s configuration. See Cloudflare’s cookie documentation.
Theme preference and browser storage
The light/dark choice is stored as daumen-theme in localStorage on your browser and is not uploaded by the application. It has no application-set expiry; you or your browser can clear it. Your browser also caches public files. No viewing history or NEXT MEME click history is saved by the application.
Turn this off to stop saving theme changes. The same storage entry then holds only an “off” setting to remember your objection. The theme switch still works on each page. Clearing site data also clears this setting.
Images, videos and external services
The HOHER teaser and curated artwork are served with this website. Random Featured Meme images, GIFs and video posters load directly from DAUMEN Gallery’s Amazon CloudFront CDN. Opening a featured video requests its MP4 from that CDN. These requests expose normal network information, including IP address and browser/request details, to the delivery service. Image and poster requests suppress the referrer; other requests follow the browser’s applicable referrer policy. Visitors do not contact the gallery API, and the application does not send it visitor identities.
Following links to Telegram, X, chart services or other websites brings you under those services’ privacy arrangements. They are links, not embedded social trackers.
Email, purposes and retention
Emails voluntarily sent to the contact address reach a Gmail mailbox and include your email address, any name supplied, message and attachments. We use relevant details to answer your enquiry or handle a privacy request. Please avoid unnecessary sensitive information.
For processing under the operator’s control, the lawful basis is legitimate interests in providing and protecting this community resource, displaying artwork and responding to voluntary enquiries. Where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, including applicable data-protection duties, that obligation is the basis. This does not authorise unrelated marketing, and we do not sell visitor information or use it for behavioural advertising.
Correspondence is kept only for as long as needed to answer an enquiry, resolve a continuing issue or retain necessary legal or dispute evidence, then removed when no longer needed. Providers retain their own records and backups according to their arrangements; no fixed provider deletion period is promised.
Providers and overseas processing
Hosting is through ChatGPT Sites/OpenAI and its infrastructure, including Cloudflare. Gallery media uses Amazon CloudFront; correspondence uses Google Gmail. These providers operate internationally and may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Their published policies explain their processing, retention criteria and transfer safeguards; our available site configuration does not establish the exact location, log period or transfer mechanism for every request.
Provider information: OpenAI, Cloudflare, AWS and Google.
Your rights and complaints
Subject to the applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion or restriction, and portability where it applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact daumenfrosch.contact@gmail.com. Proportionate checks may be needed to identify relevant records; do not send identity documents unless necessary and a suitable method is agreed.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
